Editor's opinion: The in-car projector developed by Audi is not used to watch movies, but to display driving information. Isn't that the HUD that everyone is familiar with? In fact, it should be said to be a high-end upgraded version of HUD. Judging from the design concept map released by Audi, this projector system solves many of the Achilles' heel of the current HUD, such as only being able to adjust the font brightness and projection position, but unable to enlarge the projection area and solve the problem of diopter; and unable to track the driver's perspective and always present a clear effect. It is understandable that young people use HUD, but with the aging of the population, there are more and more young people whose eyesight is poisoned by computer screens and mobile phone screens. This design of Audi is indeed very thoughtful.
Recently, it was learned from the State Intellectual Property Office that Audi has applied for a new patent. The patent involves a new projector suitable for in-car use, and the size of the display area can be adjusted according to needs.
Different from ordinary projectors, the in-car projector is divided into two parts: the projector body and the projection surface. The device projects from the back of the projection surface, and the display content can be viewed from the front. As shown in the figure, the content of the projector 5 can be displayed on the projection surface 4, and the size of the projection surface 4 can also be changed when the driver's seat moves. In other words, when the driver personally drives the car and is in the driver's position, the projection surface can be reduced so that the driver can see all the information; if the driver is in a resting position far away from the projection surface, the size of the projection surface will increase according to demand, and the driver can still see all the information.
It is understood that the in-car projector is designed for fully autonomous vehicles. Turning on autonomous driving can reduce the burden on the driver, and the driver can also stay away from the driving area for other entertainment activities. At this time, the traditional display screen is limited by size and distance and has a poor visual experience, while the in-car projector can provide a new visual experience.
