Andes Technology and IAR collaborate to help ILI accelerate development of its ISO 26262-compliant TDDI SoC ILI6600A


Through the integrated functional safety solution of Andes and IAR, ELION Technology will develop its high-performance touch and display driver integration (TDDI) chip


Uppsala, Sweden – March 16, 2023 – Andes Andes Technology and IAR have announced that ILITEK’s touch and display driver integration (TDDI) chip, the ILI6600A, uses Andes’ ISO 26262 certified V5 RISC-V CPU core, the N25F-SE, and IAR’s certified Embedded Workbench for RISC-V toolchain to support automotive functional safety (FuSa) in its most advanced chips . The ILI6600A consists of a highly integrated amorphous/LTPS (low temperature polysilicon)/oxide TFT (thin film transistor) LCD (liquid crystal display) driver and an embedded touch controller. The integrated solution provided by Andes Andes and IAR with a robust ISO 26262 design methodology can shorten the stringent certification process for automotive products and accelerate customer product time to market.


ILI6600A's LCD driver supports up to 3 chips in cascade and provides up to 16.7M colors. Its IIE (True Color Image Enhancement) function enables high-quality display and visual experience. ILI6600A's touch panel controller uses a 32-bit high-performance single-cycle instruction set MCU, and its built-in high-speed and high-performance hardware acceleration computing module provides excellent data processing capabilities. With ILI Technology's driving technology and algorithms, the touch controller brings users an excellent performance experience, strong noise immunity and high signal-to-noise ratio.


The ILI6600A uses the AndesCore™ N25F-SE , the world's first RISC-V CPU that fully complies with the ISO 26262 standard. As an enhanced safety version of the popular N25F series, the N25F-SE is designed for automotive functional safety (FuSa) to prevent systematic failures and random hardware failures. IAR Embedded Workbench for RISC-V is a certified integrated development environment that includes a powerful IAR C/C++ compiler and debugger. The joint solutions and expertise of the two companies provide customers with best-in-class performance and safety for automotive applications.

ILI6600A AFE can scan up to 960ch touch sensors and supports both LongV and LongH scanning methods. In addition, ILI6600A also supports virtual touch keys and knob functions.
