 The MAX98314 mono, 3.2D Class D amplifier combines the audio performance of a Class AB amplifier with the efficiency of a Class D amplifier. The device offers five gain options (0dB, 3dB, 6dB, 9dB, and 12dB) via a gain-select input (GAIN).

  Active Emission Limitation (AEL) with edge rate limiting, overshoot control circuitry and a filterless spread spectrum modulation (SSM) architecture significantly reduce EMI and eliminate the output filter required by traditional Class D amplifiers.

  The IC's low quiescent current (0.95mA at 3.7V and 1.2mA at 5.0V) helps extend the battery life of portable devices.

  High linearity, integrated input coupling capacitors (CIN) reduce solution size and provide superior low-frequency sound performance compared to Class-D amplifiers using external input capacitors, providing excellent THD+N, PSRR and CMRR specifications.

  The IC is available in a small, 9-bump, 0.3mm pitch WLP (1.0mm x 1.0mm x 0.80mm) package and is fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.
