The attached figure is a Class D amplifier without an Lc low-pass filter.
MAX9708 is a class D amplifier integrated circuit produced by Maxim. It can output 2×21W when connected to an 8Ω load. It can output 1×42W when connected to a 4Ω load. The efficiency of the circuit is as high as 87%. The power consumed by the integrated circuit is not large, and a large heat sink is not required.
The modulation method can be freely selected from two modulation modes: fixed frequency modulation (FFM: Fixed Frequency Modulation) and spectrum diffusion modulation (SSM: Spread Spectrum Modulation).
The switching frequency can be selected from 160kHz, 200kHz, and 250kHz in FFM, and 200±4kHz in SSM. The gain can be selected from +22dB, +25dB, +29.5dB, and +36dB. The distortion rate is less than 0.1%.
