NFC is a technology that achieves the purpose of data exchange through short-range communication. Mobile payment is the main function of NFC near-field communication. NFC modules are implanted in smartphones, which can free people's wallets and cards. It is convenient and fast to use. The market prospect is very bright and it is very competitive in the field of mobile payment.

  Advantages of NFC mobile payment

The NFC function can turn a mobile phone into a wallet, allowing you to make payments anytime and anywhere, which sounds very trendy. It has the following main advantages:

  1. High security. NFC communication distance is not as far as Bluetooth, and the speed is not as fast as Bluetooth, so it cannot replace Bluetooth. But its short-range communication feature makes it a natural advantage. For mobile payment, security is the most important. NFC card payment can only communicate within a range of less than 0.1M, and can only communicate point-to-point, which ensures the high confidentiality and security of data transmission during mobile payment communication. As long as the terminal device is within your management range, there is no possibility of fraud.

  2. Convenient. Traditional wallets are a burden and need to be carried everywhere, which is very inconvenient. However, NFC card swiping phones have wallet functions, which can store all cards (bank cards, access cards, campus cards, membership cards, bus cards) in this smart phone, reducing the burden on the wallet and yourself, and making management and use more convenient and easy.

  3. Low energy consumption. Its power consumption is much lower than that of Bluetooth and infrared devices. The NFC module can be installed in a smartphone without the need for power supply from the phone and can still be used.

  4. Low manufacturing cost. NFC technology has been solved. You only need to install an NFC function module on the mobile terminal to use it, and the manufacturing cost is low.

  Disadvantages of NFC mobile payment

At present, NFC payment is most mature in Japan, while it is still in the early stages of development in my country and other countries. It has the following shortcomings that restrict the widespread application of NFC:

  1. High user conversion cost. Although its manufacturing cost is very low, the user conversion cost is high. According to a survey on the use of branded mobile phones, under normal use, the average holding period of a mobile phone is about two years, which means that most people will change their mobile phones in about two years. If users want to use NFC, they have to replace their mobile phones with NFC functions, which results in high user costs. Secondly, changes in user habits. It took the Internet nearly 10 years to attract offline users to online. With the accelerated development of science and technology, people's living and cultural levels have improved, and their adaptability has become stronger and stronger. The time period required to convert users from the Internet to the mobile Internet will be greatly shortened. Not counting those stubborn people, it will take at least two years to complete this conversion after the NFC card swiping mobile phone begins to be used. This is the time cost.

  2. After-sales service needs to be improved. In the bank's after-sales management system, even if the user's bank card is in his pocket, but is withdrawn and used in a different place, the bank will only shirk responsibility and will not take responsibility. Such an after-sales experience is really terrible. Mobile payment is related to third-party payment companies and financial companies. I hope that it will not follow the footsteps of the domestic bank's after-sales management system, and can improve after-sales service and compensation mechanism.

Prospects for the development of NFC mobile payment

NFC is just in the initial stage of development, and all the leaders are optimistic about its development prospects and have the vision of mutual cooperation. For the huge group of NFC smartphone users, popularization is not a difficult task. I believe that NFC card payment will occupy the high ground in the field of mobile payment. Its advantages should also be able to withstand the impact of other mobile payments such as fingerprint payment and remote payment, and take up the main responsibility of mobile payment in the next 2-3 years.
