The comprehensive personnel and asset management system is a set of intelligent building management systems developed and designed using the most cutting-edge RFID technology. It integrates advanced products and technologies such as domestic identification technology, transmission technology, and software technology. It can realize a comprehensive management system with functions such as personnel management, asset management, and daily management.

  1. Project Overview

  (1) Project requirements

  Through communication with the customer, we have a preliminary understanding of the project as follows: In order to strengthen security management and improve efficiency, a certain military compound proposed to build an RFID personnel and asset management system. The system is required to be able to achieve dual management of personnel and assets and monitor the entry and exit of personnel and assets.

  (2) RFID technology

  RFID is the abbreviation of Radio Frequency Identification, which is an automatic identification technology that began to emerge in the 1990s and gradually matured. RFID is a technology that uses radio frequency signals to achieve contactless information transmission through spatial coupling (alternating magnetic field or electromagnetic field) and achieves identification through the transmitted information. A complete RFID system consists of three parts: reader, electronic tag (usually called radio frequency card), also known as sensor (Transponder) and application software system. Its working principle is that the reader transmits a radio wave energy of a specific frequency to the transponder to drive the transponder circuit to send out the internal data. At this time, the reader receives and interprets the data in sequence and sends it to the application for corresponding processing (the working principle of RFID is shown in the figure below).

  Radio frequency technology has the following characteristics:

  It has strong adaptability and wide application, and can be applied to the identification and anti-counterfeiting of various items;

  Good physical properties, waterproof, anti-magnetic, heat-resistant and long service life;

  Radio frequency induction is used to read and write information, and the identification process does not require human contact;

  Multiple encryption processing, globally unique identification code, difficult to copy;

  The whole process is intelligent, easy to operate, safe and reliable;

  Long identification distance;

  Data can be encrypted, stored information can be modified, and identification is fast and accurate;

  With anti-collision mechanism, multiple tags can be identified at the same time.

  2. Solution design

  After analyzing the technical features of current mainstream products and the application of open personnel asset systems, we recommend using the latest RFID technology in the management system design to establish a safe, reliable and stable security management system.

  (1) Open access channel

  Using passive high-frequency RFID equipment, the electronic tag does not need to install batteries and has a long service life, generally around 10 years. The maximum identification distance can reach 1.5 meters, and the device operating frequency is: 13.56MHz.

  By uniquely matching the RFID tag code with the personnel, the personnel number, basic information, etc. can be stored in the RFID tag, and the tag capacity is up to 10K. Since the passive device has a short recognition distance, it is impossible to monitor the staff in various areas of the office area in real time. It can only be done by installing recognition equipment at the entrance and exit of the area. When the employee enters and leaves a certain area, the software system automatically registers the entry and exit of the personnel.

  As can be seen from the above diagram, a normal passage process will enter the RFID area twice and cut the infrared twice, which can avoid blind reading to the greatest extent. Cutting the infrared twice also has the significance of judging whether the person is entering or leaving. Of course, the primary significance of setting up infrared recognition is to issue a warning when the RFID does not indicate. For the above channel, if two people enter closely, it is easy to make a misjudgment, and one person may enter with multiple cards or no card. In order to prevent this phenomenon from happening, it is recommended that management require employees to keep a certain distance when entering the channel, such as taking a 1-meter line approach, so as to ensure the correct judgment of the situation of people entering and leaving the channel. Of course, the result of doing so is to delay the time of entering and leaving the channel and reduce efficiency.

  In order to reduce the probability of misjudgment and improve the efficiency of traffic, other methods can also be adopted. For this reason, it is recommended to install two channels at the entrance and exit of the building, and each channel is only equipped with a single-side infrared device to implement segmented management. During the morning rush hour, the two channels can be opened at the same time for entry; during the rush hour after get off work, the two channels are opened at the same time for exit; at other non-peak times, one channel is for entry and the other channel is for exit. Of course, this increases the complexity of management. Therefore, if conditions permit, four channels or more can be installed, some of which are entry channels, and the other channels are set as exit channels, so that time-sharing management is not required, reducing the complexity of management.

  The following figure is an application example:

  System Features:

  Intelligent identification - the system uses radio frequency identification technology and infrared sensing technology to accurately and automatically identify internal employees and outsiders;

  Humanized management - internal personnel only need to carry their work cards and freely pass through the inspection channel, and the system can quickly identify them;

  Information-based supervision and management - managers can use client software to remotely view the gate's entry and exit conditions in real time, monitor the security personnel's working status, and improve the security level of the entire management system;

  The personnel card (i.e. electronic tag) has a 100,000-times re-erasing function and can be reused many times;
