Primary and secondary optical design of LED

Before high-power LED lighting components become lighting products, they generally undergo two optical designs: the first optical design is the design performed when the LED IC is packaged into an LED optoelectronic component to solve the LED's light angle, light intensity, luminous flux, light intensity distribution, and color temperature range and distribution; the second optical design is to change the optical performance of the light after passing through the first lens through an optical lens. (Secondary optical design is for high-power LED lighting. Generally, high-power LEDs have a first lens, and the light angle is about 120 degrees.)

  We must clearly realize that the primary optical design is the basis of the secondary optical design. Only when the primary optical design is reasonably packaged and can guarantee the light quality of each LED light-emitting component, can the secondary optical design be carried out on the basis of the primary optical design to ensure the light quality of the entire light-emitting system. Simply put, the purpose of the primary optical design is to extract as much light as possible from the LED chip; the purpose of the secondary optical design is to make the light emitted by the entire lighting system meet the design requirements.
