Reuse of damaged bidirectional thyristor
Bidirectional thyristor is also called bidirectional thyristor. When it is damaged due to improper use or poor quality of components, most of its half-wave controllable parts fail. Its equivalent circuit is shown in the figure, which is equivalent to a forward single-phase thyristor and a reverse diode in parallel. Therefore, it can be used as a unidirectional thyristor.
