As a result, single-chip microcomputers are widely used in instrumentation, industrial automatic control, household appliances, medical equipment, office automation equipment, security monitoring and other fields, covering all aspects of human life. The application of single-chip microcomputers has shifted the focus of circuit design from hardware design (traditional circuit design) to software design (microcontroller technology). The disadvantage of traditional circuit design is that when designing a more complex control circuit, its hardware circuit is very complex, the development cycle is long, and it consumes a lot of manpower, material resources and financial resources. Some intelligent control circuits cannot be realized by traditional circuit design, especially the intuitive human-computer interaction interface. Now it can be easily realized by software programming with single-chip microcomputers. The circuit is simple, the function is powerful, and the quality is reliable. This is the fundamental reason why single-chip microcomputers are widely used. In our lives, electrical appliances are frequently updated, the size is getting smaller and smaller, the control is getting smarter, the function is getting more powerful, and the quality is getting more reliable. These are all the results of the embedded application of single-chip microcomputers.
1. Application in intelligent instruments
Single-chip microcomputers are widely used in instruments and meters to realize the conversion and processing of analog and digital quantities. Through sensors, physical quantities such as voltage, power, frequency, humidity, temperature, flow, speed, thickness, angle, length, distance, hardness, elements, pressure, gravity, volume, brightness, waveform, magnetic induction, etc. can be measured. The use of single-chip microcomputer control makes instruments and meters digital, intelligent, miniaturized, and intuitive, and remote measurement and data collection can be realized through single-chip microcomputer serial port communication.
2. Application in the field of industrial automation
In industrial control, such as industrial process automatic control, process automatic monitoring, process data acquisition, industrial controllers, industrial field networking communication and mechatronics automatic control systems, single-chip microcomputers are indispensable. In relatively complex large-scale industrial control systems, single-chip microcomputers can be used to achieve intelligent control, intelligent data acquisition, remote automatic control, and field automatic management, truly realizing industrial automation. For example, the control system of an industrial robot is a multi-machine network system composed of nodes such as a central controller, a sensory system, a walking system, and a grasping system, and each of these small systems is controlled by a single-chip microcomputer.
3. Application in household appliances
Now and in the future, all kinds of home appliances at home and abroad are controlled by single-chip microcomputers, because home appliances will develop towards multi-function, intelligence and automation. Home appliances without single-chip microcomputer intelligent control will face elimination. Which of the new home appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, microwave ovens, rice cookers, induction cookers, etc. does not use single-chip microcomputers to control?
4. Application in computer communication field and security monitoring system
Single-chip microcomputers generally have communication interfaces, which can easily communicate data with computers, providing technical conditions for communication between computers and devices, such as telephones and their monitoring equipment, building automatic communication call systems, fire alarm systems and video monitoring systems, wireless and wired intercom systems, etc.
