October 10, 2024 – Mouser Electronics, an authorized global distributor of electronic components and industrial automation products focused on new product introductions, has announced the launch of a new e-book that explores the topic of motor control in depth. Motors play a vital role in many products, including cars, refrigerators, garden tools, elevators, and air conditioners. In order to achieve a more sustainable future, a major challenge facing motor control is to maximize efficiency while balancing costs.

In the eBook "Mastering Motor Control Design," Mouser provides practical information for electrical design engineers of all experience levels on system parameters and product selections that achieve high performance. Topics covered include selecting the right motor type for the application, as well as driver and microcontroller options, motor power components, motor isolation, and current sensing.

The eBook also provides quick links to selected motor control products, such as ROHM Semiconductor's HP8K/HT8K dual-channel enhancement-mode MOSFETs. These devices are ideal for single-phase and three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motors and are available in back-side cooled packages.

ON Semiconductor's NCD83591 is an easy-to-use 60V multi-purpose three-phase gate driver with a high gain bandwidth current sense amplifier, ideal for trapezoidal motor control applications. The device is packaged in a small QFN28 package and has a high level of integration, which helps optimize the overall BOM cost.

The MPQ6541-AEC1 and MPQ6541A-AEC1 from Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) are three-phase BLDC motor drivers with three integrated half-bridges. The MPQ6541A-AEC1 integrates independent high-side (HS) and low-side (LS) inputs. The MPQ6541-AEC1 integrates enable (ENBL) and pulse width modulation (PWM) inputs for each half-bridge. Both devices feature automatic synchronous rectification, thermal shutdown protection, overcurrent protection (OCP), and undervoltage lockout (UVLO).

Qorvo's PAC52710 and PAC52711 power application controllers are highly optimized systems-on-chip (SoCs) for controlling and powering a new generation of energy-efficient electrical, devices and equipment. These controllers integrate a 50MHz Arm® Cortex®-M0 32-bit microcontroller core with a multi-mode power manager, configurable analog front end, and application-specific power drivers to form a compact motor control system.

As a global authorized distributor, Mouser Electronics stocks a wide range of semiconductors, electronic components and industrial automation products. Mouser aims to supply customers with fully certified original products and provide full manufacturer traceability. To help customers accelerate design, Mouser's website provides a rich technical resource library, including a technical resource center, product data sheets, supplier-specific reference designs, application notes, technical design information, engineering tools and other useful information.
