When using APC UPS power supply, do not make the following charging mistakes, otherwise the consequences will be serious.
No initial charging
The first charge of the APC UPS power supply is called the initial charge, which has a great impact on the service life and charge capacity of the APC UPS power supply. If the charge is insufficient, the charge capacity of the APC UPS power supply is not high and the service life is short; if the charge is excessive, although the electrical performance of the APC UPS power supply is good, it will also shorten its service life, so the new APC UPS power supply should be carefully charged. For general APC UPS power supplies, they must be initially charged according to the charging standards before use. For dry-charged lead APC UPS power supplies, according to the instruction manual, if they need to be used within the specified two-year storage period, they only need to add electrolyte of specified density and place it for 15 minutes, and they can be put into use without charging. However, if the storage period exceeds two years, because there is some oxidation on the plate, in order to improve its charge capacity, it should be compensated and recharged before use, and charged for 5h-8h before use.
No compensation
Some drivers often ignore the recharging of the APC UPS in the car. Because the APC UPS is not fully charged in the car, it is easy to cause plate sulfation; at the same time, the charge and discharge amount is unbalanced during use. If the discharge is greater than the charge and the APC UPS is in a state of power loss for a long time, the APC UPS plate will gradually sulfide. This slow sulfation will cause the charge capacity of the APC UPS to continue to decrease until it is unable to start, greatly shortening the service life of the APC UPS. In order to restore the active substances on the APC UPS plate in time, reduce plate sulfation, improve the charge capacity of the APC UPS, and extend its service life, the APC UPS in the car should be recharged regularly.
APC UPS power supply overcharge
APC UPS power supplies are often overcharged. Even if the charging current is not large, the electrolyte "excites" for a long time. In addition to the easy fall-off of fine particles on the surface of the active material, the grid will be over-oxidized, resulting in loose separation of the active material and the grid.
Reverse polarity during charging
Because the positive and negative plates of the apc ups power supply are made of different materials, in addition to the active material, the negative plate also adds barium sulfate, humic acid, carbon black and rosin to prevent the negative plate from shrinking and oxidizing. In addition, the number of negative plates in each single cell of the apc ups power supply is always one more than the number of positive plates, and the negative plate is slightly thinner than the positive plate. When performing the initial charging or supplementary charging of the apc ups power supply, if the polarity is not paid attention to, the apc ups power supply will be charged reversely, and the positive and negative electrodes will almost become coarse-grained PbSO4, resulting in insufficient charge capacity of the apc ups power supply, unable to work normally, and even causing the apc ups power supply to be scrapped. Therefore, you must pay attention to the polarity when charging, and never charge the polarity in reverse.
