WPG Group launches network camera (IPC) solution based on CVITEK and SOI products
On February 15, 2023, WPG Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary Youshang has launched a network camera (IPC) solution based on CVITEK CV1821 chip and SOI JX-K06 image sensor.

In recent years, the development of consumer electronics, the Internet of Things, the Industrial Internet, smart homes, and smart cities has promoted the innovation of intelligent monitoring technology and the demand for IPCs (network cameras). Compared with traditional cameras, IPCs can not only provide higher-definition video effects, but also have network output interfaces that can directly connect cameras to local LANs. These features give them an absolute advantage in network monitoring and value-added functions.
Based on the trend of rapid growth in IPC demand, Dalian Dayoushang launched an IPC solution based on CVITEK CV1821 chip and SOI JX-K06 CMOS sensor, supporting 2560×1440 resolution and 25fps frame rate . As a 4M surveillance camera solution, it improves image quality and color authenticity through ISP image calibration technology, and achieves stronger photosensitivity and less noise through image sensors and post-processing.

For the main control, this solution selected CV1821 from CVITEK. CVITEK is an open artificial intelligence chip developer that focuses on video surveillance and edge computing technology research and development. It has independently developed AI TPU computing core and SoC chip integration technology. The CV1821 used this time is a high-performance, low-power chip launched for edge intelligent monitoring IP cameras, local face recognition attendance machines, smart homes and other fields. It integrates H.264/H.265 video compression codecs and ISP, supports HDR wide dynamic, 3D noise reduction, defogging, lens distortion correction and other image enhancement and correction algorithms, and can provide customers with professional-grade video image quality.
In addition, CV1821 is also equipped with a self-developed TPU, which can provide about 0.5TOPS computing power under INT8 operation. The unique TPU scheduling engine can effectively provide extremely high-bandwidth data flow for the tensor processor core; and provides users with a powerful deep learning model compiler and Linux software SDK development kit, supporting mainstream deep learning frameworks such as Caffe, Pytorch, ONNX, MXNet and TensorFlow (Lite).
在图像传感器的选择上,本方案选用了SOI旗下的JX-K06 CMOS图像传感器。晶相光电(SOI)成立于2004年5月,致力于CMOS Image Sensor的开发与销售。JX-K06传感器采用SOI公司的2.1um像素技术设计制造。它可以在HDR模式下以30fps和15fps的速度传输2K分辨率的图像。在设计上,JX-K06由2568×1448有源像素传感器(APS)阵列和片上10位ADC、可编程增益控制(PGA)和相关双采样(CDS)组成,以显著降低固定模式噪声(FPN)。该传感器还支持符合行业标准的DVP并行和MIPI CSI-2双数据通道串行接口。外部主机控制器可以通过标准串行接口访问该设备。

With its excellent performance, this solution can provide high-definition image information in both indoor and outdoor scenes, which is conducive to the promotion and popularization of high-definition network cameras.
