January 3, 2023 - MediaTek released the intelligent IoT platform Genio 700, which integrates a high-performance eight-core CPU and is suitable for smart home, smart retail and industrial IoT products. MediaTek will demonstrate Genio 700 during the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES2023).
Genio 700 uses an energy-efficient 6nm process. The eight-core CPU includes 2 Arm Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The integrated AI accelerator can provide 4 TOPs of strong performance. In addition, Genio 700 also supports both 4K resolution 60Hz refresh rate and FHD resolution 60Hz refresh rate display, and the integrated ISP image signal processor provides better image quality.
Richard Lu, deputy general manager of MediaTek's Intelligent IoT Business Unit, said: "Last year we released the Genio Intelligent IoT Platform, which provides the scalability and development support required by device manufacturers, laying a solid foundation for Genio's development. Genio 700 Born for industrial and smart home products, it further enriches MediaTek’s smart IoT product portfolio and allows us to provide customers with a wider range of technology and product support.”
The Genio 700 software development kit (SDK) supports Yocto Linux, Ubuntu and Android operating systems, allowing customers to easily and flexibly develop various customized products and products for different application types.
MediaTek Genio 700 features also include:
• Supports multiple high-speed interfaces, including PCIe2.0, USB 3.2 Gen 1 and MIPI-CSI camera interface
• Supports both 4K 60Hz and FHD 60Hz display, supports AV1, VP9, H.265 and H.264 video decoding
• Supports industrial-grade design and wide-temperature design, with a durability period of up to 10 years
• Provide standard open source Yocto Linux development platform for easy integration of solutions
Genio 700 will be commercially available in the second quarter of 2023.
