Digi-Key Electronics collaborates with TE and Microchip to release new smart city video series: Smarter, Safer Cities
Digi-Key Electronics, the global distributor of the most comprehensive and fastest-shipping electronic components, recently announced the release of a new video series focusing on smart cities, produced with the help of TE and Microchip. The series of videos is themed "Smarter and Safer Cities" and is divided into three parts, focusing on some of the most advanced cities in the world, showing how to combine the latest technologies and innovations in public safety to reshape people's work, commuting and life in modern smart cities.
Digi-Key, in partnership with TE and Microchip, releases three-part video series on smart cities: Smarter, Safer Cities.
“We are excited for the opportunity to explore and share smart city technologies and how they can transform and enhance everything from public safety to sustainability, energy management and electric/autonomous vehicles to safe and efficient workplaces,” said Robbie Paul, director of IoT business solutions at Digi-Key Electronics. “Smart cities are the future, and many of Digi-Key’s customers and suppliers are playing a key role in making them a reality by introducing innovative technologies.”
The first video in this three-part series, “Enabling Public Safety through Augmented Cognition,” is now available on the Digi-Key website with subtitles in all local languages. The second and third videos in the series, “Harvesting and Storing Sustainable Energy,” will be released in May and June, respectively.
“As the Internet of Things and 5G continue to grow at a rapid pace, Microchip is excited to be part of the journey toward safer, smarter cities with these innovative technologies,” said Rich Simoncic, senior vice president of Microchip’s Analog Power and Interface business unit. “Together, we are empowering Digi-Key to advance its customers’ innovations, from providing components for building smart grids and charging applications for autonomous vehicles to automation technologies that make commuters safer and more productive.”
“As a loyal distribution partner for more than 35 years, Digi-Key provides customers with the latest and most cutting-edge critical components they need to develop new technologies and advance smart cities, including TE Connectivity’s antennas, RF, harsh environment cables, high-speed and low-speed connectors, power products and sensor solutions,” said Rickard Barrefelt, senior manager of field application engineering at TE. “We are honored to be a part of this video series, and hope that the content will inform and inspire innovators to continue to develop solutions that make our world safer, sustainable, efficient and connected.”
