Introduction to Machine Vision Technology [Copy link]

Machine vision is a comprehensive technology, including image processing, mechanical engineering technology, control, electric light source lighting, optical imaging, sensors, analog and digital video technology, computer software and hardware technology (image enhancement and analysis algorithms, image cards, I/O cards, etc.). A typical machine vision application system includes image capture, light source system, image digitization module, digital image processing module, intelligent judgment and decision module and mechanical control execution module. The most basic feature of the machine vision system is to improve the flexibility and automation of production. In some dangerous working environments that are not suitable for manual operations or where artificial vision is difficult to meet the requirements, machine vision is often used to replace artificial vision. At the same time, in large-scale repetitive industrial production processes, the use of machine vision detection methods can greatly improve production efficiency and automation. The principle is: image the product or area, and then use dedicated image processing software to process it according to its image information. According to the processing results, the software can automatically determine the position, size, and appearance information of the product, and make a qualified judgment based on the pre-set standards, and output its judgment information to the actuator.
Positioning function: It can automatically determine the location of the object or product of interest, and output the location information through a certain communication protocol. It is mostly used in fully automatic assembly and production, such as automatic assembly, automatic welding, automatic packaging, automatic filling, and automatic spraying, and is often used in conjunction with automatic actuators (robots/welding guns/nozzles, etc.)
Measuring function: It can automatically measure the appearance dimensions of the product, such as contour, aperture, height, area, etc.
Defect detection function: It is the most commonly used function of the visual system. It can detect relevant information on the surface of the product, such as: whether the packaging is correct, whether the packaging is correct, whether there are any errors in printing, whether there are any scratches or particles on the surface, damage, oil stains, dust, whether the plastic parts have perforations, lack of glue, excess glue, scratches on the outer surface, poor injection molding in rain and fog, etc.
