Leifeng.com reported that on September 13, 2019, local time in the Netherlands, at IBC2019 held in Amsterdam, Shanghai HiSilicon Technology Co., Ltd., AVS Industry Alliance, Danghong Technology, Guangdong Ultra HD Video Innovation Center and Pengcheng Laboratory jointly released the first 8K end-to-end solution based on the AVS3 standard, and launched the world's first AVS3-based ultra-high-definition chip Hi3796CV300 that supports 8K resolution and 120P.
The encoder partner of this solution is Danghong Technology, a smart video solution and cloud video service provider.
AVS3 is an ultra-high-definition video codec technology standard for 8K developed by the AVS working group. HiSilicon has worked closely with the AVS Industry Alliance and the Guangdong Ultra-High Definition Video Innovation Center to launch an 8K end-to-end solution based on AVS3 at this conference. The solution consists of an 8K set-top box supported by the HiSilicon Hi3796CV300 chip, a Danghong video encoder and an 8K TV.

At the meeting, Niu Zhaohui, deputy secretary-general of the AVS Industry Alliance, introduced the formulation and industrial application of the AVS3 standard.
According to Niu Zhaohui, AVS3 is the third generation of audio and video codec technology standards developed by the AVS working group. Since its establishment in 2002, the AVS working group has developed three generations of standards under the strong support and guidance of relevant national departments and the leadership of academician Gao Wen, the group leader.
