Microsoft admits Windows 10 Fall Creators Update has bugs
The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update rolled out on October 17, and just as expected, the first users who received the update encountered several bugs, including one that hid their apps in the Start menu.
In most cases, apps can be launched from the Windows Store, but after users upgraded to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, some apps no longer appear in the Start menu and are more difficult to find on the system.
Microsoft has finally acknowledged the bug and explained that it is investigating reports of missing apps after installing the Fall Creators Update, while also providing an article with troubleshooting steps to restore apps. Importantly, the company has not yet clarified when it will fix the issue, although the bug may be resolved through a cumulative update sometime in the coming months.
Microsoft has provided a tutorial that can repair or reset missing applications by uninstalling and reinstalling, or re-registering the application using PowerShell. If nothing works, users will have two more dramatic options: return to the previous version of Windows 10, or completely reset the system and restore all settings to default values.
Alibaba sues several self-media outlets, seeking 1 million yuan in compensation
Alibaba said it will formally sue several self-media accounts that spread rumors about "Jack Ma's mansion", requiring the accounts involved to stop spreading the rumors, apologize and eliminate the impact, and to pay RMB 1 million in compensation. Alibaba said the accounts involved in the lawsuit include "Wisdom Life", "Boss Thinking Mode", "Boss Thinking Selection", "Entrepreneur Strategy", "Annoying You Yet", "Coolest Comics" and so on.
The above-mentioned self-media accounts used WeChat public accounts, Tencent Video and other channels to describe "Jack Ma's luxury house, worth 1 billion! The most expensive in the world!!!" "Jack Ma's another luxury house was exposed, worth 3 billion, it can be called the world's first palace, luxurious and extravagant!" "Jack Ma's luxury house worth 4 billion is fully exposed, the interior decoration is extremely luxurious!" "Jack Ma's luxury house worth 5 billion is fully exposed again, the decoration is called the best in the world!" and other titles, but the amount in the title has risen from 1 billion to 5 billion, and it has been quickly spread through online channels such as WeChat Moments.
In September this year, Jack Ma responded to such "luxury house" rumors through Weibo, saying "I've seen so many of them that I almost believe them myself."
JPMorgan Chase cuts Model 3 fourth-quarter production forecast in half
Tesla's recent failure to meet its production targets for its new Model 3 electric sedan has worried Wall Street's top investment firm JPMorgan Chase, which reiterated its "underweight" rating on Tesla shares and lowered its target share price, predicting that the electric car maker's problems with car production will continue, according to CNBC.
In the third quarter of this year, Tesla delivered a total of 26,150 electric vehicles to customers, but only 220 of them were Model 3. According to data from market research firm FactSet, Wall Street analysts had previously expected Tesla's total production of electric vehicles in the third quarter to be 25,860, while Model 3 would be 1,260.
The figures come two months after Tesla said it would produce 1,500 Model 3 electric cars in the third quarter.
"(Third quarter) Model 3 deliveries were significantly below both Tesla management's and our forecasts," JPMorgan analyst Ryan Brinkman wrote in a note to clients. "Tesla management cited production bottlenecks as the primary factor behind the lower-than-expected deliveries of the newly launched Model 3, further fueling our concern that the significant execution risk associated with the Model 3 launch does not appear to be fully reflected in Tesla's current stock price."
As a result, Brinkman lowered his fourth-quarter Model 3 delivery forecast to 15,000 from 30,000.
