In recent years, the fast charging industry has been constantly undergoing innovation and upgrading, and each technological leap has brought revolutionary changes to the efficiency and safety of charging. In particular, the introduction of the USB PD3.1 fast charging standard has set a new milestone for the development of the industry. This standard not only increases the maximum charging power to 240W, but also adds multiple sets of fixed and adjustable output voltage levels, which can provide more flexible and efficient charging solutions for various electronic devices. In this context, Dalian Dayou has launched a 140W USB PD3.1 fast charging solution based on the ST-ONEHP device.

ST-ONEHP is a member of the ST-ONE series of digital controllers. It adopts new non-complementary ACF control and synchronous rectification technology, built-in USB-PD 3.1 EPR protocol, and is the world's first embedded controller equipped with ARM Cortex M0+ core, supporting offline programmable control and synchronous rectification functions. The device is packaged with USB PD PHY and adopts an integrated monolithic design with enhanced current isolation, which can efficiently control the ZVS non-complementary active clamp flyback converter. ST-ONEHP has a maximum transient voltage of 4kV and a high-voltage startup capability of 800V, and integrates input voltage detection and overvoltage/undervoltage detection functions to improve circuit safety.


In the design, ST-ONEHP is used in combination with MasterGaN to achieve better performance. MasterGaN is a power product with a package size of 9mm×9mm. It has two built-in GaN MOS and high-voltage driver. Compared with traditional Si MOS, it has advantages such as superior thermal performance and switching efficiency. In this solution, MasterGaN1 products are used to effectively optimize the circuit design and volume of the PCB while improving the charging experience.

In addition, this solution also uses ST's high-performance MOSFET STL36N60M6 and PFC controller L6563S. With the advantages of these devices, the solution can help manufacturers quickly launch stable and high-power-density fast-charging products, greatly shortening the development cycle and simplifying BOM costs.
