Venture Capital | Qualcomm Ventures continues to expand investment in China, with promising prospects in 2022
Qualcomm Ventures set many new records in 2021. The total assets of invested companies exceeded US$2 billion, and more than 20 companies were successfully listed or acquired; it co-launched the Internet of Things Fund in Brazil, which will support multiple start-ups in the next decade; and launched the Technology Women Entrepreneur Incubation Program in India for the second consecutive year to support more female entrepreneurs who start businesses using 5G, AI, IoT and XR technologies.
In China, Qualcomm Ventures has made 5G-enabled smart connectivity its investment focus. For the second consecutive year, it has worked with Tencent to jointly host a startup competition with the theme of "5G Ecosystem". At the same time, it has selected the "Top Ten Most Noteworthy New Startups in the 5G Ecosystem" to promote the construction of the 5G ecosystem; it has initiated the XR Industry Investment Alliance to continue to cultivate XR ecosystem innovation. In the past November and December 2021, Qualcomm Ventures participated in the strategic investment of three Chinese companies, Denglin Technology , Lingdong Technology and Momenta , covering the three major fields of AI, IoT, and autonomous driving.
