Micron Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: MU) recently announced that the 3500 NVMe™ solid-state drive (SSD) based on Micron's 232-layer NAND technology is now shipping to customers for commercial applications. Further breakthroughs in performance are achieved with demanding workloads from applications, scientific computing, new games and content creation. Micron 3500 SSD adopts M.2 form factor and has a capacity of up to 2TB , providing a user experience that is superior to competing products1 . It performed outstandingly in the SPECwpcsm test and can improve product development and application performance by up to 71% 2 .
Storage performance is becoming increasingly important for gaming, content creation, and emerging AI experiences on the client. As game quality and file sizes continue to improve, their loading times also become longer. Client-side AI applications require faster data access speeds to improve user experience. Micron 3500 SSD easily meets these challenges:
● When Micron 3500 SSD loads the largest new game "Dauntless Contract", the speed is increased by up to 38%, bringing players a smoother gaming experience. 3
● Micron 3500 SSD also supports DirectStorage function, which can further shorten the loading time of adapted games.
● Content creators can use Micron 3500 SSD to load and edit native 4K and 8K video faster, accelerating the time to publish their works.
● The 4 Micron 3500 SSD performed well on the PCMark 10® performance benchmark :
o Bandwidth increased by up to 36%
o Data access speed increased by up to 38%
o Overall results improved by up to 37% compared to competing products
Micron 3500 SSD is now shipping to select PC OEMs and builds on the award-winning Crucial X9 Pro and Crucial X10 Pro portable SSDs, providing content creators with a richer range of SSD product options.
