Experience the future of cars now
Self-driving cars (AI, 5G)
In this multimedia, hands-on demonstration, we show how Intel is accelerating the development of autonomous driving solutions.
A BMW top-level high-tech car attracted much attention, with three transparent OLED displays surrounding it. However, this is not a 4S store, and test drives are not allowed. Intel used it to showcase the latest driverless technology. You can appreciate the key functional features of Intel's scalable platform from car to cloud: in-vehicle computing, connectivity/5G, and cloud data center.
This BMW i8 has been modified and equipped with Intel's latest driverless platform - Intel® GO™. It is Intel's latest driverless in-vehicle development platform, which can support different computing platforms from the next generation Intel® Atom™ to Intel® Xeon® processors plus Intel® Arria® 10 FPGAs. And it is also equipped with a related software development kit for this hardware solution to help car company engineers quickly develop driverless functions. Bring a new driverless car experience to the market in a faster time and at a lower cost.
Next, put on the Microsoft* HoloLens head-mounted display to start an immersive augmented reality journey and experience the BMW i8 more deeply inside and out.
In the future, driverless cars need to be connected to form a complete set of intelligent transportation, so as to alleviate traffic congestion and pollution, and achieve zero accidents and convenient travel. In this regard, a new generation of fast and stable 5G Internet networks is about to emerge. At the last CES, Intel announced that it would devote itself to the development and research of 5G. This time, we came with products. The new 5G modem stands out. The baseband chip of this modem will be used with a new 5G transceiver that supports sub-6Ghz bands and millimeter wave functions. This powerful combination uses key 3GPP5G NR technologies, including low-latency frame structure, advanced channel coding and massive multiple-input and multiple-output, which can provide faster connectivity and extreme responsiveness.
In the near future, cars will interact with other cars and smart roads to improve safety and manage traffic. Only the new generation of optimized 5G IoT and devices can meet the speed, latency and energy efficiency requirements to ease traffic congestion in the world's most polluted cities and achieve zero accidents and convenient travel. This should be a boon for big cities like Beijing!
Upgrade your viewing and sports experience
Sports (AI, VR)
In addition to parking a luxury car, Intel also set up a basketball court at the booth. Let's have a 3v3 game to see if you are super awesome. The reason for having a basketball court is to showcase the latest sports experience.
Here you can shoot, layup, and dunk if you can. You can also compare your favorite NBA star's shooting movements to make yourself a star on the court sooner rather than later. By measuring biometrics, data can help measure how sports affect the likelihood of injury. Whether you are a professional dunker or an ordinary enthusiast, as long as you put the Intel® Curie™ module on your body, you can capture and analyze the data during the dunk and skill challenge in real time, and intelligently guide your training to improve your performance!
The Intel® Quark™ SoC and Intel® technology-based Majestic* Swing IQ can capture the motion data of athletes on the court. The Intel Saffron Natural Intelligence Platform™ is a cognitive computing platform that combines brain-like functions with computing power to make the most accurate decisions.
In addition to experiencing the game in person, we can also wear a virtual reality helmet to watch the game immersively and enjoy the ultimate fan experience. This requires the use of cameras from VOKE, an Intel-owned company and a leader in live VR broadcasting.
VOKE’s cameras can be used to capture exciting scenes from major events like the Spanish Derby, bringing VR experiences to fans and spectators and providing content that can be shared on social media.
At CES, the images captured by VOKE at the stadium built on site were wirelessly transmitted using pre-standard 5G technology, and the audience watched them using the VR headsets next to them. The VOKE experience supports multiple platforms - PC, tablet, mobile phone or VR headset.
