Rumor has it that Apple is beginning to lean towards US chip manufacturing giants

Among Apple's many chip suppliers, Micron has always been very low-key, but don't underestimate it. People outside the investment circle may not know much about this company located in Boise, Idaho. However, this "world's second largest DRAM memory chip company" after Samsung has even surpassed Intel in terms of wafer production capacity (ranked third).
Before the rumors of an affair with Apple emerged, the company's most recent big move was the acquisition of Japanese memory maker Elpida for $2 billion last year.
But we all know that Apple uses a lot of memory products from Elpida in its iPhone and iPad products. The most recent example is the iPhone 5s and iPad Air.
In its upcoming products, Apple is expected to use Micron's latest DDR4 memory chips, which are more energy efficient than the DDR3 technology used in PCs, tablets and smartphones.
Storage capacity will also increase, of course, so future iPads and iPhones—and any mobile product Apple can come up with—will surely have more system memory and more powerful performance.
Given that Apple's biggest competitor, Samsung, has already deployed 3GB of system memory on products such as the Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, Apple, which already has a 64-bit chip A7, may also be able to unleash greater energy.
