A smart system of connected traps to monitor and quickly manage insect and rodent infestations in an environmentally friendly way.

Anticimex does not simply supply traps, but more importantly ensures the effectiveness of pest control, successfully improves control efficiency, enhances customer experience, and significantly reduces the amount of toxins used in traditional traps.
Pest control has traditionally relied on traps filled with toxins to kill pests, which require dedicated personnel to constantly check.
Anticimex has joined forces with Telenor Connexion to open up a new landscape for pest control
. The emergence of a connected trap intelligence system has enabled Anticimex to change the way it works, creating greater business value and benefits for end users.
Anticimex has revolutionized pest control by connecting its traps to the Internet of Things, enabling 24-hour monitoring of the traps, regardless of where they are located. In this digital transformation, Anticimex had to address several challenges and issues.
One of the issues is that customers don’t like the hassle of monitoring, maintaining or disposing of traps. Connecting the traps to the IoT allows them to be monitored digitally.
With the help of IoT, pest control efficiency and customer experience can be improved. In addition, it is also important to benefit the environment because the amount of toxins used in traditional traps can be significantly reduced.
In the past, 24/7 pest control meant having people on site to maintain traps. Now, with information gathered from data, it is possible to accurately understand the scale of insect and rodent infestations so that appropriate control measures can be taken. Catching pests early can also prevent costly losses. The data generated by traps can be used to generate more valuable insights, thereby creating more business value.
Anticimex has partnered with Telenor Connexion to innovate by connecting the components of the Anticimex Smart Solution to the Internet of Things. This smart solution redefines the pest control services that service providers offer to their customers. With managed connectivity services, Anticimex can address a variety of challenges and issues, bringing innovation to pest control solutions.
“Telenor Connexion empowers Anticimex Smart Solutions with robust, secure, reliable and global IoT connectivity. As an industry leader, working with Telenor Connexion enables us to enter new markets with relative ease. Their support and troubleshooting technical team is world class and they are always on hand to help us resolve issues and provide support when we need it,”

Anticimex Smart Solutions offers customers the best of both worlds with automation and professionalism, leveraging the Internet of Things. It is a digital, eco-friendly, intelligent pest control solution that effectively controls rodents. Managing connected systems and their equipment, such as devices and sensors in traps, keeps an eye out for and monitors unwanted pests.
The system detects pests and responds, while Anticimex experts provide ongoing service and improve trap placements. The Anticimex Smart System was developed by the company’s R&D team at its Innovation Center, incorporating the latest research and technology, and is unique to Anticimex.
How does the Anticimex smart system work?
The entire process is divided into three steps, starting from the on-site inspection to successful and continuous control.
The first
step is analysis and planning: Anticimex surveys the customer's site, studies existing documents and understands the situation with key personnel, and then develops the best solution for the customer based on the problems found. If insect and rodent infestations have already occurred, Anticimex will deal with them immediately.
The second step
is installation and connection. Based on the plan created in the previous step, Anticimex will install a system, install sensors in key locations, and install non-toxic traps to effectively deal with pests. Anticimex smart devices are connected to the Internet of Things and continuously send reports to the Anticimex Smart Data Center.
The third step
is to maintain the installed equipment and give customers peace of mind. Anticimex will perform regular checks, empty and move traps when necessary, analyze the data and provide customers with the necessary information. If the system reports any situation, Anticimex will take action, allowing customers to focus on other matters. After the field analysis is completed and the Anticimex smart system is installed, customers will see results quickly.
The connected trap business is growing rapidly and this is undoubtedly a success for Anticimex.
The global connectivity solution provided by Telenor Connexion is monitored and supported 24/7 by a team of IoT experts, so Anticimex’s solution operates 24 hours a day.
As of February 2020
, Anticimex has deployed approximately
150,000 traps and sensors
worldwide, connected to mobile networks. Millions of rats are caught worldwide each year, and traps are deployed in 18 markets around the world every month. 9% of the company's revenue comes directly from smart services, and Anticimex is able to enter new markets faster and easier. These figures are growing year by year.
For Anticimex, the main benefit is that they are able to
improve their service and operational efficiency
, which in turn
improves the customer experience
and brings more benefits to the end user.
24/7 monitoring means Anticimex can monitor pest situations at any time, respond immediately and send reports directly
. All traps use biopesticides, which are 100% non-toxic and therefore beneficial to the environment. Since pests are good at hiding in places that are not easy to see, IoT connectivity also helps with blind spot detection, allowing Anticimex to proactively respond when large-scale pest infestations occur. In fact, Anticimex can now even detect pest problems at customer sites before they occur. IoT has completely changed the pest control industry, bringing benefits to end users, businesses and the environment.
“We actively adopt new technologies to provide customers with more efficient, considerate and environmentally friendly services. We are also committed to developing sustainable solutions to reassure customers that the solutions we provide are long-term solutions.”
