The Internet of Vehicles platform includes three main elements: people, vehicles, and charging piles. The State Grid’s smart Internet of Vehicles platform starts with the interconnection of charging piles.

Qin Jian, State Grid·Internet of Vehicles Operation Center

New energy vehicles are the general trend, but the lag in infrastructure such as charging piles has restricted the development of electric vehicles. There are problems such as "cannot find a charging pile" and "cannot charge" after buying a car, so the interconnection of charging piles on the platform has become a unanimous call in the industry.

On the 21st, the State Grid Corporation of China's Internet of Vehicles platform has achieved interconnection with 17 charging operators including Putian New Energy, Teladian, and Xingxing Charging, with a total of more than 167,000 charging piles connected and a daily charging capacity of more than 1 million kWh. This means that China has built the world's most extensive, most connected devices, and most technologically advanced smart Internet of Vehicles.

In July, Zhida also launched a new smart charging product "Watcher", which not only has a more fashionable and technological appearance, but also adds new functions such as parking space monitoring and Bluetooth ground locks. It not only has the basic networking functions of traditional smart charging piles, but can also interact with mobile phones and people.

Conclusion

Compared with users who bought cars but "cannot charge", the seemingly prosperous charging operators may feel more wronged. They have invested a lot of financial and material resources, but most of them are still losing money. The interconnection of the State Grid's Internet of Vehicles platform may improve the industry's predicament.

An industry insider said, "No country in the world has connected the Internet of Vehicles and the Internet of Charging Piles like our country has. Once the interconnection between vehicles and charging piles is completed, the next energy data entrance for charging piles will be formed, so that many charging pile companies will be able to make profits this year."
