Dimming and flashing dual-purpose socket This dual-purpose socket can perform stepless dimming of the lamp plugged into the socket; it can also make it flicker with adjustable flickering frequency, which can be used to enhance the indoor atmosphere. working principle
See Figure 1 for the circuit. When S is on, the circuit is a dimmer socket. The AC voltage is rectified by VD1-VD4 and becomes a DC pulsating voltage, which is added between the anode and cathode of VS. R1, R2, RP and C1 form a resistor-capacitor trigger circuit. When the voltage across C1 rises to a certain value, VS turns on and the lamp lights up. When the pulsating voltage applied between the anode and cathode of VS crosses zero, VS is turned off. Adjusting the potentiometer RP can change the charging rate of C1, which changes the conduction angle of VS, thereby causing the voltage at both ends of the bulb to change accordingly, achieving the purpose of stepless dimming. The voltage adjustment range at both ends of the bulb in this circuit is 150-220V, which meets the general indoor light dimming requirements. When S is closed, since the large capacitor C2 is connected, the circuit becomes a flashing circuit. Because C2 has a large capacity and takes a long time to charge, when the voltage across C2 reaches a certain level, C2 discharges to the VS control electrode through RP and R2, causing VS to conduct and the light to turn on. When the alternating current crosses zero, VS is blocked and the light goes out. C2 is recharged and forms ultra-low-frequency oscillation over and over again, and the lamp flashes. Adjusting the potentiometer RP can change the discharge rate of C2, which can change the flashing frequency of the lamp.
