Disassembling the USB wireless network card, the circuit scheme is very classic [Copy link]

Many desktop computers do not have wireless network cards and can only be plugged in with a network cable.
If you want to use WiFi, just plug in a USB wireless network card, it's simple and convenient:
The USB wireless network card is so small that you might wonder how the circuit board is stuffed in there:
Here is a disassembly of one of the manufacturers:
Another angle:
Pry open the part covered by plastic and you can see the light blue antenna:
The entire circuit board was taken out, revealing a small and compact circuit board, which is very beautiful:
The USB wireless network card uses the solution of Realtek Semiconductor, and the chip model is RTL8188CUS:
Partial details of the ceramic antenna. The ceramic antenna is mainly used because of its small size:
The back side of the circuit board is shown in the picture below.
There is a black chip packaged as SOT23-5 on it. It is a power chip with 5 pins and realizes the function of 5V to 3.3V:
Remove the key components, from left to right and from top to bottom in the figure below:
1. Blue ceramic antenna;
2. Golden crystal oscillator;
3. Black main chip RTL8188CUS;
5. 5V to 3.3V power chip.
The internal circuit of the main chip was damaged when it was disassembled:
The microscopic circuit world is so beautiful:
Open the cover of the crystal oscillator and take a look at what is inside:
Compare this to a USB WiFi module made with the same chip solution: (and the girl’s hands without manicure)
This module is also small, but because it uses a PCB antenna, it is relatively larger:
Mark the key components:
REALTEK Semiconductor's RTL8188 hardware and software solution is very mature and has been in mass production for many years, but it is not certain whether it is still a competitive solution at present.
This article is mainly an appreciation of beautiful pictures. If you want to make it yourself, just find a chip agent to get schematics and other reference design materials. It is very simple.

I also bought one, it is very useful, but now it is discarded in a corner. I will take it apart and have a look at it when I have time, especially the internal part of the chip, haha!

There is no other way, curiosity drives me: dissolve the shell or use fire, hammer, axe... Anyway, knowing a little more than before is progress!  Details Published on 2021-5-17 13:09

Ha, I'm waiting for you to share it after you take it apart.

I don't know what solvent is good, I'm looking for it now (ha!), I don't know what it will look like when I magnify it 3000 times (optical)? Sorry, I'm a newbie, it's all DIY (ha!)  Details Published on 2021-5-20 18:13
