【DIY Creative LED】Reference Design (Schematic + PCB) [Copy link]

This post was last edited by dcexpert on 2020-9-15 17:05

This time, I used EasyEDA for design. One reason is that EasyEDA is a domestic free software, which makes it easy to find devices and packages (Most of the device packages in the Easy Mall are available, but I have to complain that the Easy packages are a bit rough); another reason is that EasyEDA is very convenient for drawing logos, and you can directly import common image formats without using other software. Although EasyEDA has fewer functions than professional software EDA, it is sufficient for DIY design. It has all the basic functions and is a good alternative software. EasyEDA can be used directly in the browser, or you can install an offline version, which is more convenient to use. Its website is:

https://lceda.cn/

The project is open source. Search for " DIY Creative LED " in EasyEDA to find the project file. Or you can open the project directly through the following URL

https://oshwhub.com/shaoziyang/DIY-ESP8266-WS2812

  • Because we haven't had time to proof-proof the design, there may be various bugs or even low-level errors in the design. Everyone is welcome to discuss, correct and improve it.
  • The above is just a reference design. You can adjust it according to your own ideas, add or remove functions, and choose different chips.
  • EasyEDA files can be exported to AltiumDesigner format.

If you don't want to use EasyEDA, you can refer to the following PDF schematic:

  • sch.pdf (175.75 KB, downloads: 73)

Both EasyEDA and KICAD are open source. I'll learn more about the latter one. There are still many problems. I guess I don't know how to use software and plug-ins.

Kicad looks good, but it takes time to get used to it.  Details Published on 2020-9-16 18:32

It is indeed a bit different. Loading your own habits will make it more satisfactory. EDA just played with it for a while and it is not bad. It is very similar to AD. Is there a reference? I didn't see the cross reference and split screen  Details Published on 2020-9-16 18:37

Many functions are similar to AD, but not as powerful as AD. Currently, I find that the function that is more useful than AD is the logo making function, which can directly insert image files.  Details Published on 2020-9-16 19:34

Also, it seems that KICAD and EasyEDA do not support ODB++ format for manufacturing output?

I have never used ODB++ format to make boards. I usually use gerber or pcb files. What are the advantages of ODB++ format?  Details Published on 2020-9-16 19:38

It's so hard to use. I've never used this kind of software before. I'm slowly figuring it out...

This is good. Use it to get the schematic done and then export it.

There are usually various problems with export and import. Big problems are fine, but the most worrying ones are small problems. Sometimes it takes a long time to check them, which is even more troublesome.  Details Published on 2020-9-27 21:20
