EU delays plans to regulate Apple until spring 2023
According to EU antitrust chief Margrethe Vestager, extensive new EU regulations targeting Apple and other large tech companies will take effect in early 2023. The EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA) could force Apple to make major changes to the App Store, Messages, FaceTime, third-party browsers, and Siri in Europe. For example, it could be forced to allow users to install third-party app stores and sideload apps, enable developers to closely interoperate with Apple's own services and promote their offers outside the App Store, use third-party payment systems, and access data collected by Apple.
US game market revenue will surpass China's for the first time this year
According to Newzoo, the gaming revenue in the United States ($50.5 billion) will surpass that of China ($50.2 billion) in 2022. Despite this, the Asia-Pacific market remains the largest revenue region by a huge margin. However, the US and European markets still show signs of growth, thanks to the performance of PC in the former market and the performance of game consoles in the latter market. Of course, in 2022, the mobile market will still accumulate more revenue than the sum of these two areas.
Samsung T7 Shield Portable SSD starts pre-sale in China
Samsung launched its new mobile solid-state drive T7 Shield on April 26, and pre-sale has begun. The 1TB version is priced at 899 yuan, and the 2TB version is priced at 1799 yuan. It uses the USB 3.2 Gen2 standard interface, with a read speed of 1050MB/s and a write speed of 1000MB/s. NetEase Games establishes its first studio in the United States
Recently, NetEase Games, the online gaming division of NetEase, announced that it has established its first studio in the United States, Jackalope Games, in Austin, Texas. As a first-party studio of NetEase Games, Jackalope Games will be committed to creating new and exciting PC and console games. Jackalope Games is NetEase Games' first first-party studio in the United States, but it will operate independently and maintain creative autonomy in game development and publishing.
