Apple asked Foxconn to start recruiting workers to assemble iPhone 14 models in advance, fearing that the lockdown could lead to supply shortages or delays later this year, according to United Daily News.

Apple's main assembly partner Foxconn reportedly launched a massive hiring campaign for its factory in Zhengzhou this week.

Although this season is usually a slow season for iPhone production, the company is said to have increased bonuses by 30% to attract more employees in the urgent need to meet Apple's requirements.

Apple briefly mentioned supply issues caused by the shutdown during its earnings call last week, and DigiTimes recently speculated that parts of Apple's supply chain could be severely impacted, depending on how long the lockdown lasts, and could even force Apple to delay the launch of new ‌iPhone‌ models later this year.
