On April 25, 2022, Beijing time, the vivo X80 series was officially released, including three models: X80, X80 Pro, and X80 Pro Dimensity 9000 version. Among them, the vivo X80 is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 flagship platform, and the vivo X80 Pro provides two flagship platform versions: MediaTek Dimensity 9000 and the new generation Snapdragon 8. The entire X80 series is adapted to flagship configurations such as self-developed chip V1+, Samsung E5 AMOLED super-sensitive screen, dual-cell 80W wired flash charging, and launched three fashionable colors: Journey, Holiday, and Black, with a starting price of 3,699 yuan. X80 and X80 Pro will be officially on sale on April 29, and X80 Pro Dimensity 9000 version will be officially on sale on May 5.
In terms of imaging, the entire vivo X80 series meets the Zeiss T* coating standard. The X80 Pro uses ultra-low reflection and ultra-hard AR coating and ultra-low dispersion high-transmittance glass lenses, and customizes a 1/1.3-inch GNV ultra-large bottom sensor to obtain a purer picture; the X80 is the first to launch the Sony IMX866 RGBW large bottom sensor to further enhance the photosensitivity. Combined with the super computing power of the self-developed chip V1+, the vivo X80 series main camera, ultra-wide-angle lens, and front lens can all achieve real-time black light night vision function. In addition, the X80 Pro is equipped with the industry's first Zeiss portrait micro-gimbal, which improves the stability of handheld shooting, and the anti-shake angle is 3 times that of ordinary OIS.
In addition to the upgrade of optical devices, the vivo X80 series also brings an experience upgrade at the software level through in-depth cooperation with Zeiss. Among them, Zeiss Natural Color 2.0 can restore the natural native colors seen by the human eye with fine and accurate adjustments. In the long race of portraits, the vivo X80 series has added Zeiss Cinematic style blur on the basis of the built-in Zeiss four portrait style lens packages (Biotar, Distagon, Sonnar and Planar), which can use elliptical blur spots and 2.39:1 shooting frames to create a cinematic style portrait shooting effect.
For all-scene and all-time shooting, vivo has also developed a series of deep imaging algorithms such as RAWHDR, micro-nano skin rejuvenation, AI portrait enhancement, adaptive motion exposure control, intelligent color restoration, and full-link color management.
In terms of imaging functions, the vivo X80 Pro supports XDR Photo technology. It improves the screen display effect and covers the entire chain of ultra-high dynamic range technology from acquisition, processing to display. It also launches proprietary functions such as focus tracking, studio-level quality portraits, quality portrait group photos, 360-degree horizon anti-shake, and horizon correction. It supports high-definition portraits and motion blur effects in motion, enhanced group photos for multiple people, wide-angle image stabilization, and perspective distortion correction.
In terms of appearance design, the vivo X80 series adopts the design concept of "above the cloud steps, the realm of square and circle", and uses the "realm of square and circle" to view the world as the design language, combining traditional and modern styles.
The X80 series launched this time includes three color schemes: Journey, Holiday, and Black. The new color "Holiday" uses a large area of pure blue-green, paired with fluorescent stone AG glass, which is very suitable for the occasion.
In terms of hardware configuration, the vivo X80 series is equipped with two flagship SoC chips, the Dimensity 9000 and the new generation Snapdragon 8. According to the official introduction, vivo and chip manufacturers have carried out in-depth joint debugging to achieve "same chip, better experience". The software channel architecture has been innovated, and the image processing capabilities of the flagship platform can be further exerted through the support of software and hardware.
It is worth mentioning that in the vivo X80 series, vivo and the Dimensity platform have cooperated for the first time to adjust the self-developed chips. To this end, the two sides have mobilized more than 300 technical elites, and after nearly a year of hard work, they have greatly innovated the software channel architecture and successfully adjusted the self-developed chip V1+ with the Dimensity 9000. On this basis, the vivo X80 series launched GPU Fusion technology, which shares the GPU load through multi-chip collaboration and dynamically allocates resources through intelligent identification of game screen scenes, so as to better solve the problems of performance degradation caused by high power consumption and high heat, balance performance and power consumption, and cooperate with 120fps dual-core super frame and HDR independent display ultra-clear technology to ensure a stable frame experience of the game.
In terms of heat dissipation, the X80 series uses an ultra-large area VC liquid cooling heat sink, and a single-piece VC heat sink with a larger area is installed in the X80 body.
In terms of battery life, the entire X80 series uses dual-cell 80W wired flash charging, and the X80 Pro is also equipped with dual-cell 50W wireless flash charging, which generates less heat and allows for faster charging for longer periods of time. Test data shows that the X80 equipped with dual-cell 80W wired flash charging can charge from 0% to 50% in 11 minutes and fully charge in 34 minutes; while the X80 Pro with a larger battery capacity can charge from 0% to 50% in 13 minutes and fully charge in 38 minutes.
In terms of screen, the entire vivo X80 series uses Samsung E5 screen. On this basis, the X80 Pro is equipped with a 6.78-inch 2K E5 super-sensitive free screen, with a local peak brightness of 1500nit, supporting LTPO free frame rate, reducing screen power consumption and improving dynamic display smoothness through intelligent frequency conversion.
In other aspects, the X80 series is equipped with a large X-axis linear motor and dual stereo speakers; the X80 Pro also has a large-area ultrasonic fingerprint unlocking and IP68 waterproof and dustproof functions. The entire series is compatible with the OriginOS Ocean operating system, which has comprehensively upgraded the experience of scenes such as office, smart interconnection and mobile phone security.
In addition, the new vivo S series product vivo S15e was also officially unveiled at this press conference. It has a flagship chip and greatly upgraded performance. It is equipped with vivo's exclusive customized high-end chip Exynos 1080, 66W flash charging and a 4700mAh large battery, which is quite cost-effective.
In other aspects, the 50-megapixel rear-mounted imaging system and the Exynos 1080's exclusive customized intelligent ISP architecture are a powerful combination, with excellent performance in all scenes including portrait, night scene, video and sports. The three trendy colors of rime gold, ice crystal blue and fluorite black are suitable for both warm and cold weather. The 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB versions are priced at 1,999 yuan, 2,299 yuan and 2,499 yuan respectively, and pre-sale will start on April 25.
The prices of the vivo X80 series were also announced at the conference. The prices of the vivo X80 8GB+128GB version, 8GB+256GB version, 12GB+256GB version and 12GB+512GB version are 3,699 yuan, 3,999 yuan, 4,399 yuan and 4,899 yuan respectively.
The prices of vivo X80 Pro 8GB+256GB version, 12GB+256GB version and 12GB+512GB version are 5,499 yuan, 5,999 yuan and 6,699 yuan respectively.
The vivo X80 series has been pre-sold on various online and offline platforms. X80 and X80 Pro will be officially available on April 29, and the X80 Pro Dimensity 9000 version will be officially available on May 5.
