Santa Clara, California – March 30, 2022 – OmniVision Technologies, a leading global developer of semiconductor solutions for advanced digital imaging, analog, touch and display technologies, today announced the launch of its new OS03B10 CMOS image sensor, a 3-megapixel 1/2.7-inch optical format that can deliver high-quality digital images and HD video for security surveillance network and HD analog cameras.
The OS03B10 image sensor’s 2.5-micron pixel size uses OmniVision’s OmniPixel®3-HS technology. This high-performance, cost-effective solution uses a highly sensitive FSI process to achieve true color reproduction in both bright and dark conditions.
“Many customers are already using our FSI-based 2-megapixel 1/2.9-inch image sensor OS02G10 in security and video applications such as webcams, baby monitors, doorbell cameras, smart TVs, and dashcams,” said Cheney Zhang, senior marketing manager at OmniVision. “The OS03B10 is pin-compatible with the OS02G10, so customers can seamlessly upgrade their products to 3-megapixel image sensors without redesign, significantly improving image capture and HD video.”
With the advanced 2.5-micron pixel architecture, OS03B10 achieves excellent low-light sensitivity, signal-to-noise ratio, full well capacity, quantum efficiency and low power consumption. This image sensor can shoot 16:9 format video at a frame rate of 30 frames per second. The default mode and programmable mode can more easily control parameters such as frame size, exposure time, gain value, etc. This image sensor also provides several image control functions, such as mirroring and flipping, windowing, automatic black level calibration, defective pixel correction, sunspot repair, etc. OS03B10 supports DVP and MIPI interfaces.
