New antenna tuner from Infineon enables ultra-high data rates, excellent signal quality and longer battery life in 5G smartphones
[Munich, Germany, March 11, 2022] With the rapid growth of the number of connected devices, customers expect product design and functionality to provide a better user experience. This poses a huge challenge to RF engineers. Antenna design has become increasingly complex due to the increasing requirements for new features, performance, and innovative appearance and size. In particular, the introduction of 5G technology requires more antennas to be placed in the limited space of terminal devices to achieve more frequency band coverage, which undoubtedly brings further challenges to antenna design. All of these factors may affect the performance of the antenna.
Infineon Technologies AG will further expand its portfolio of extremely small, ready-to-use antenna tuners to support RF engineers. Infineon uses its deep RF expertise and many years of technology development experience to further improve the efficiency of antennas. Following the successful market launch of the BGSA147ML10, Infineon will launch a new antenna tuning switch to further enhance its innovative antenna tuner product lineup. These devices are suitable for Sub-7.2 GHz NR applications and can support 4G and 5G network connections for smartphones, laptops, wearable devices, VR headsets, smart home devices and other cellular devices.
The BGSA144ML10, BGSA400ML10 and BGSA403ML10 antenna tuners are available in a 1.1 x 1.5 mm2 TSLP 10-pin package; the BGSA14M2N10 is available in a 0.95 x 1.3 mm2 TSNP 10-pin package with a 350 μm pad pitch.
