On the evening of February 23, Weibo digital blogger @旺仔百事通 posted a message saying: "Huawei Mate40E Pro (5G) is scheduled to be on sale on the third of next month (March 3), equipped with HiSilicon Kirin 9000L processor."
Given that the blogger has previously revealed some accurate information about Huawei many times, it still has some credibility.
In addition, many bloggers have recently exposed information about the Huawei Mate 40E Pro model and the Kirin 9000L chip, and most of them said that the phone may be on the market soon.
According to previous leaks, the Kirin 9000L chip is built using Samsung's 5nm EUV process. The overall design is similar to the Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E, but the configuration has been reduced.
According to relevant leaks, the Kirin 9000L will increase the main frequency of the CPU's large core A77 to 2.86GHz, while the previous Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E both used the 3.13GHz A77 large core.
As for the GPU, the Kirin 9000L is significantly smaller than the other two models and is equipped with an 18-core Mali-G78 GPU, while the big brothers Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E have 24 cores and 22 cores respectively.
As for the NPU, which Huawei has always attached great importance to, the Kirin 9000L is also simplified, retaining only one NPU large core, which is quite different from the top-of-the-line Kirin 9000 with a combination of 2 large cores + 1 micro core.
Overall, the Kirin 9000L maintains a similar architecture and CPU performance to the top-end version, but has significantly simplified configurations in terms of GPU and NPU, so the chip will be slightly inferior in terms of display and image performance.
As for other configurations, it is reported that Huawei Mate 40E Pro will inherit the design and peripheral configuration of Huawei Mate 40 Pro as a whole. It can basically be regarded as a version with a new chip, which is still worth looking forward to.
