Recently, some netizens revealed that the entire Samsung Galaxy S22 series will usher in a wave of price increases, among which the highest-configuration Galaxy S22 Ultra will be priced at an astonishing 1,430 euros (about 10,317 yuan).
According to leaked information, the entire Galaxy S22 series will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor as standard. The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus with 8+128 configuration will be priced at 912 euros (approximately RMB 6,579) and 1,119 euros (approximately RMB 8,073) respectively, which is a significant price increase compared to the S21.
In comparison, in Europe, the starting prices of iPhone 13/13 Pro are 939 euros and 1189 euros respectively, which are only slightly higher than the price of the Galaxy S22 series. It is not difficult to see that Samsung’s idea of targeting the iPhone 13 series in terms of price.
The price increase of the Galaxy S22 series is related to problems in Samsung's supply chain.
In December last year, it was revealed that there were major problems with Samsung’s internal supply chain, which directly led to the postponement of the Galaxy S22 series, which was originally scheduled to be released in January this year, and the release date was set on February 25.
If this news is true, the increased costs caused by supply chain issues may be one of the reasons why Samsung decided to increase the price of the Galaxy S22 series.
As Samsung's flagship series, the Galaxy S22 series will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as standard across the board, as well as a 120Hz high refresh screen, a 108MP main camera, and support for stereo speakers, wireless charging, 45W fast charging and other functions.
