On December 17, the first Dishui Lake China RISC-V Industry Forum was held in Lingang, Shanghai. At the meeting, Li Guan, deputy director of R&D at Fangcun Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., introduced the high-security and high-reliability embedded network processor T690 based on the RISC-V architecture, which will be launched in June 2022.
Fangcun Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2017 and is headquartered in Jinan. It now has branches and R&D centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Qingdao. As a core supplier of network security SoC processors, Fangcun products have been widely used in various information security terminals. Fangcun is committed to the research, design, and sales of high-end cryptographic processors, high-performance network security chips, and high-speed interface control chips. Fangcun Microelectronics has a leading advantage in China in terms of integrated circuit architecture design, secure cryptographic algorithms, independent control of core technologies, large-scale mass production, and quality control. Li Guan said that Fangcun Microelectronics currently has more than 300 cooperative customers, and the shipment volume of 7 mass-produced chips has reached 5 million.
Li Guan introduced that T690 is a highly secure and reliable embedded network processor chip developed by Fangcun Microelectronics. It provides single-chip solutions for border network security devices such as IoT gateways, industrial routers, vehicle gateways, and lightweight VPNs. It is also the first chip to move from the security market to general use. The chip uses the AMP architecture with a built-in domestic high-performance RISC-V processor core. The main core can run the Linux operating system to adapt to the existing software ecosystem, and the slave core can run RTOS to achieve high real-time transaction processing.
Li Guan said that the T690 chip has strong security attributes, and the built-in HSM provides extremely fast cryptographic operations and secure data storage, which meets the requirements of the national secret level 2 and EAL5+; the built-in PMP and IOPMP components realize on-chip resource isolation and permission protection, and provide TEE functions. The chip has strong safety attributes, and guarantees stability and reliability through mechanisms such as memory ECC, bus CRC, and safety islands, meeting the functional safety requirements of automotive standards. In addition, the chip supports high-speed communication interfaces such as PCIe3.0, USB3.0, and GbE, and especially provides an optimized offload acceleration engine for GbE to achieve high-speed interconnection with the outside.
The T690 chip provides multiple low-speed IOs such as SDIO, LCD, CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, and ADC and DAC interfaces to meet the requirements of low-speed communication and field control. The chip is equipped with a complete SDK, which fully covers the three abstract levels of Linux, RTOS, and Bare-Metal to meet the application development needs at different levels. In addition to the network security field, it can also be used in other embedded applications.
