Recently, Shenzhen Tianma said in an institutional survey that the company's independently developed HTD technology (Hybrid TFT Display) is currently in the mass production verification stage. The company has carried out HTD layout on the flexible AMOLED production line and will focus on the advanced driver backplane with low power consumption improvement.
The relevant products will be launched in due course in the future based on market development and customer needs.
It is reported that the total investment of Xiamen Tianma Display Technology's G6 AMOLED production line (TM18) is 48 billion yuan. It is currently the largest single flexible AMOLED factory in China. The main factory building has been capped and equipment is being moved in. The progress is very smooth.
Shenzhen Tianma said that the production line focuses on planning the advanced cutting-edge technologies such as independently developed HTD (Hybrid TFT Display) technology, CFOT (polarizer replacement technology), under-screen camera technology, under-screen fingerprint technology, and embedded touch technology. After the project is completed, it will help the company's flexible AMOLED production capacity rank among the top three in the world.
At the same time, Shenzhen Tianma is also closely following the latest technologies in the industry, continuously strengthening forward-looking technology research, and has conducted research and development in Mini LED and Micro LED.
Shenzhen Tianma's independently developed LTPS AM Mini LED HDR liquid crystal display products have been exhibited at the 2019 SID Annual Exhibition. This technology has created the highest local dimming precision in the display industry. Currently, Mini LED is mainly used for backlight applications of display screens, and has the advantages of both OLED and LCD in terms of display performance. The company has independently developed driving algorithms for different architectures to provide customers with a variety of solutions. Currently, it is mainly aimed at the automotive and medium-sized (tablets, laptops) display fields, and will be promoted according to the progress and needs of customers.
At this year's SID 2021 exhibition, the company also fully demonstrated Mirco LED technology, including the 5.04" Splicing extreme narrow-frame Micro LED that can achieve infinite splicing and the 7.56" world's first transparent Micro LED and electronic paper combined with innovative technology applications. Micro LED has technical advantages such as higher stability, longer life, transparent display, and infinite splicing, which is suitable for automotive applications. For Micro LED display technology, the company has completed technical development in flexible, high-transparency, and splicing display. The related exhibits have won various international awards many times. The company will continue to pay close attention to the development of this technology.
Regarding the price trend of small and medium-sized panels, Shenzhen Tianma said that the small and medium-sized display field has a wide range of application scenarios, most of which are customized products, and the price fluctuation range of each segment is different. In addition to supply and demand affecting prices, product prices are more likely to be segmented based on factors such as each company's customer structure, product strategy, and risk defense capabilities. Different demand solutions will also have different prices. The key lies in how to quickly meet the needs of different customers and markets. The company will continue to improve its comprehensive competitiveness and risk resistance.
Regarding overcapacity, Shenzhen Tianma said that in the display industry, the concept of "overcapacity" has always been a hot topic of discussion. The company believes that at different stages, display technology will show different degrees of development. Moreover, different display technologies have different display function characteristics, and they can find suitable application directions in different applicable markets.
