Foreign media said that Samsung Electronics may officially unveil the new generation "Exynos 2200" on November 19, but some people believe it will be Exynos 1250.
Samsung Exynos posted a mysterious post on Instagram, saying that "On November 19, everything changes," and that it will show us what "future entertainment will look like."
Foreign media believe that Samsung's move is hinting at a leap forward in gaming and image technology in the mobile phone field. In particular, the article also shows many pictures, including how games started and how game images have continued to develop over the past few years. Samsung even said that they are now ready to take a big step forward in the future of gaming and entertainment.
"Gaming has come a long way. What we used to think of as 'immersive' relied on many external factors, like the surrounding environment. But advances in semiconductors have changed all that, and we'll be moving into our new home on November 19th. Stay tuned."
Foreign media believe that we will see the new Exynos processor on November 19. According to previous reports, it should be the Exynos 2200, which has AMD GPU technology and greatly improves gaming graphics performance.
Samsung announced its collaboration with AMD in June 2019, and the final success will be demonstrated on the Exynos 2200.
Leaks show that the new generation of flagship chipsets will be equipped with AMD's RDNA2 Radeon mobile GPU core graphics, which will bring technologies such as ray tracing and variable rate shading.
There are also reports that Samsung is preparing to launch an entry-level and mid-range Exynos processor in the near future, but considering the release cycle, and the fact that Samsung doesn't need to release such a mysterious trailer for ordinary chips unless they are deliberately mysterious, but in theory, this generation of Samsung flagship platform is imminent.
All in all, the Samsung Exynos 2200 is likely to be released next Friday and will be installed in the Galaxy S22 series in some markets. Judging from the previously leaked running scores, the new generation of Samsung Exynos 2200 has a very strong running score, especially the GPU performance supported by AMD technology far exceeds that of Apple A14 Bionic.
According to the Korean website Clien, the GPU of this SoC is codenamed "Voyager" and will integrate 6 CUs with a total of 384 stream processors with a frequency of up to 1.31GHz. The graphics card score is much higher than that of Apple's A14 Bionic chip, but it is not comparable to the M1 chip.
Specifically, when using GFXBench to run the 1080P Manhattan 3.1, the AMD GPU of Exynos 2200 has an average frame rate of 170.7 fps. Currently, whether it is Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 series or Apple A14 Bionic, the average frame rate of this test project is around 120fps. In addition, in the Aztec Ruins test project, the scores of Exynos 2200 are significantly higher than those of A14 Bionic.
However, compared with Apple's M1 chip, the performance of AMD Voyager GPU is still not comparable. The M1 chip's 1080P Manhattan 3.1 running score is as high as 270fps, which is more than twice that of current smartphone SoCs.
Previously, Samsung officials expressed that they were very satisfied with the performance of AMD RDNA 2 GPU. The Exynos 2200 SoC chip is expected to be officially unveiled later this year. The comparison between it and Apple's upcoming A15 Bionic chip is very exciting.
