IT Home reported on August 1 that domestic manufacturer Anker recently launched an Apex 12-in-1 Thunderbolt Quad Docking Station. The product uses a full metal shell, is equipped with many interfaces such as HDMI, Type-C, USB-A, and supports 8K/30Hz video transmission. It is now available on Amazon.
The detailed model of this product is A83971A1, with vertical stripes on the top. The docking station is 7.34cm long and weighs about 449g, and comes with a standard 120W power adapter, which is convenient for powering laptops.
The following is a list of interfaces provided by the docking station:
1×DC power input
2 x HDMI 2.0 ports
2× Thunderbolt 4 (input/output respectively)
1×USB-C 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps, supports PD fast charging)
1×3.5mm headphone jack, supports wired control
1×RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet port
2×USB-A 3.2 Gen2(10Gbps)
2 x USB-A 2.0 ports (480Mbps)
1× SD card reader
This product is compatible with any laptop with Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports, including Apple M1 chip laptops. The Thunderbolt 4 port can reach a rate of 40Gbps, and multiple Thunderbolt 4 devices can be connected in series through this docking station.
In terms of video output, the HDMI 2.0 interface of this Anker docking station can output up to 4K/60Hz video. At the same time, the Thunderbolt Quad output port can output up to 8K/30Hz or 4K/120Hz video, and up to three screens can be connected in series, all of which can achieve 4K/60Hz.
In terms of power supply, the product can achieve a maximum 90W PD fast charging output through the full-function Thunderbolt 4 interface to meet the power supply needs of laptops. In addition, the USB Type-C interface also supports a maximum of 20W PD fast charging, which can charge mobile phones and other devices.
IT Home learned that because the Thunderbolt 4 chip generates relatively high heat, the interior of the Anker Apex 12-in-1 docking station is covered with a large heat sink and has a 5-layer heat dissipation design. Combined with the full metal shell, it can ensure that the chip will not overheat.
This Thunderbolt 4 expansion dock from Anker comes standard with a 120W power supply, a 1.2-meter power cord, and a 0.7-meter Thunderbolt 4 data cable. It is priced at US$299.99, or approximately RMB 1,938.
