Recently, a post saying "Hongmeng system is a pirated version of Android" has been circulated online, claiming that this is an announcement released by China Mobile.
The so-called announcement shows that "because Huawei Hongmeng pirated Android and could not obtain the certification of the Wi-Fi Alliance, devices installed with Hongmeng will experience slow network speeds and disconnections when connected to the Internet through Wi-Fi. It is necessary to wait for Huawei's system to negotiate and file with the Wi-Fi Alliance, and for the approval of relevant international Internet organizations. This phenomenon has nothing to do with the network. Please be aware of this to all users of the Hongmeng system."
In response, the relevant person in charge of China Mobile Shanghai Branch said that China Mobile has never made such remarks, and China Mobile Shanghai Branch has not received any feedback from users about "disconnection caused by using Huawei Hongmeng system". The information circulated on the Internet is not true.
In fact, there are many loopholes in this text. First of all, the layout is similar to WeChat Moments. How could China Mobile issue an official announcement in Moments?
Secondly, the Wi-Fi Alliance had restored Huawei's membership as early as May 2019. The online rumor that "Huawei has not been registered and certified in the Wi-Fi Alliance system" is also groundless.
Most importantly, the statement that "Hongmeng system is a pirated version of Android" is mainly because Hongmeng's operating interface is similar to Android and is compatible with the Android system, but we cannot hastily draw the conclusion that "Hongmeng is a pirated version of Android."
This is because users have long been accustomed to the Android system. If the Hongmeng system wants to be fully promoted, it must take into account the habits of current users.
On June 4, HarmonyOS (Hongmeng operating system) was released, and the official issued a "Notice on Standardizing the Communication of HarmonyOS", in which Huawei explained why HarmonyOS 2 is still compatible with running Android ecosystem applications, namely "to protect the digital assets of Huawei's existing mobile phone and tablet users."
