On the afternoon of April 20, it was reported that the Honor V40 was launched in January this year. According to past rules, the follow-up should be the flagship of "Honor 40" (without V). However, foreign media recently received some internal information saying that this is not the case.
gsmarena said that the company will directly launch the Honor 50 series in May. They exposed a poster that has not yet been officially released. Please note the circular camera design and the circle below.
gsmarena also received a design sketch of the back of the phone. The camera module will have two circles, similar to the design language seen in the Huawei P50 renders, and seemingly inspired by the Cartier ring. Interestingly, the top circle will only house one lens; the lower circle is home to two modules with an LED flash in the middle.
Foreign media speculate that the thing on the right seems to be a snap-on filter (or lens?), which may be fixed to the camera ring by magnets. This can explain why there is only one module inside the top ring (the lens must be in the middle).
There is no news about the camera hardware yet. It looks closer to the design of the Honor V40 Lite Edition, or it fits in with the previously exposed pictures of the Huawei P50 series.
There are more questions about the Honor 50, such as whether it will come with Google Mobile Services (after all, that was one of the reasons for the split with Huawei).
