On January 20, Guo Wenhai, deputy secretary of the CPC Foshan Municipal Committee and secretary of the Shunde District Committee of Guangdong Province, met with the open source chip project team and held discussions with Li Jiajie, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, chairman of Henderson Land Development Group and co-founder of Saifang Technology, Liang Zhaoxian, chairman and president of Galanz Group, and Xu Tao, co-founder and CEO of Saifang Technology, Tang Tianshen, CEO of Guangdong Yuefang Technology Co., Ltd., and Jiang Zhaohui, CTO, and other scientists to learn about the open source chip research and development, base project construction, etc., and jointly study and promote project construction.


On December 15, 2019, the Shunde District People's Government, Henderson (China) Investment Company and Galanz Group signed an agreement to jointly build an open source chip base; on January 17, 2020, Guangdong Yuefang Technology Co., Ltd. was unveiled in Shunde, marking the substantive stage of Shunde's construction of a world-class chip industry ecosystem; on June 19, 2020, the Shunde District People's Government, Shanghai Saifang Technology Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Yuefang Technology Co., Ltd. formally signed a cooperation agreement to jointly build an open source chip research institute.

Saifang Technology successively released the Jinghong 7100 chip in Shunde in September 2020, the Tianshu processor in Chongqing in December, and the world's first RISC-VAI single-board computer based on the Linux operating system - the Starlight AI single-board computer (Beagle-V) in Shanghai in January 2021.

It is reported that the team currently has 140 employees, half of whom have moved to Shunde, and the entire team will be expanded to about 300 people this year. At present, a 32-bit RISC-V+ wireless connection chip BF2 has been mass-produced in the first microwave oven product, and a 4-core 64-bit RISC-V high-end chip NB2 will be mass-produced in 2021 and has signed contracts with many well-known companies.

Xu Tao, co-founder and CEO of Saifang Technology, said that we have firmly established RISC-V's global leading position and will build the Open Source Chip Research Institute into the world's largest RISC-V ecological base in the future.
