Recently, at the 2021 China Academy of Information and Communications Technology ICT+ In-depth Observation Report Conference, Liu Liehong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced that my country has currently built a total of 718,000 5G base stations and promoted the joint construction and sharing of 330,000 5G base stations.
Liu Liehong said: my country's 5G development has entered a critical stage of application innovation, and the trend of coordinated promotion by multiple subjects such as basic telecommunications, equipment manufacturing, and vertical industries is accelerating.
At the same time, the industrial Internet has entered a period of rapid development. It has cultivated and formed more than 100 industrial Internet platforms with certain regional influence, connecting 40 million units of industrial equipment and applied to more than 30 key industries such as raw materials, equipment manufacturing, and consumer goods.
The 2021 5G base station construction plan is also being formulated. Wu Hequan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, once predicted that 5G construction will be accelerated in 2021, and it is expected that more than 1 million new 5G base stations will be built across the country.
Xiao Yaqing, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, said earlier that my country will orderly promote the construction and application of 5G networks, accelerate 5G coverage in major cities, and promote joint construction and sharing in 2021. At the same time, it will focus on 10 key industries, form 20 typical industrial application scenarios, carry out industrial 5G private network pilots, and release 5G millimeter wave frequency planning for some frequency bands in due course.
