OnePlus could be the latest phone maker to partner with Leica on the OnePlus 9 series cameras, if a tipster is correct.
A Twitter user asked if OnePlus was working with Leica, to which Teme replied “Op9 series,” which seemed to hint at the OnePlus 9 series.
If OnePlus is indeed working with Leica to develop the cameras for the OnePlus 9 series, then we can expect significant improvements in the performance of its next-generation flagship cameras.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau revealed in an interview with Input Mag that they are working on improving the camera performance of their phones, "focusing on both software and hardware". They are not only improving the flagship series, but also the future Nord series. However, he did not reveal in the interview that they are working with German camera company Leica.
The OnePlus 9 series will include the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9E, and OnePlus 9 Pro. It is not yet known whether all three models will use Leica lenses.
