AUO's Peng Shuanglang: Panels lack both ICs and glass

According to Taiwan Economic Daily, AUO Chairman Peng Shuanglang said today (16) that the prosperity of information and communications in the first half of next year can be expected, and there is no sign of slowing down. Panels are facing a shortage of ICs on one hand and glass on the other, and the supply and demand are even more severe.

He pointed out that driven by the stay-at-home economy, the prosperity of the global information and communications industry in the first half of the year can continue. As to whether it will continue throughout the year, it remains to be seen how the development trend changes.

He emphasized that the power outage at Japan's NEG glass factory last Friday had an impact of at least three to four months, but Taiwan's panel industry does not account for a large proportion of its use, so the impact is relatively small.

Peng Shuanglang also pointed out that the panel is facing a shortage of ICs on one hand and glass on the other hand, and the supply and demand are even more severe. The panel order boom can also be seen in the first half of next year, and the panel price will be determined by supply and demand.
