Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro updates: Improved performance and efficiency on Apple silicon Macs

Apple today updated its video and audio editing applications Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro designed for professionals to versions 10.5 and 10.6, respectively. The new software updates improve performance and efficiency on Mac computers using Apple Silicon and take advantage of new features of the Apple Silicon Neural Engine.

Final Cut Pro version 10.5 updates:

• Improves performance and efficiency on Macs with Apple silicon

• On Macs with Apple silicon, Smart Match uses Apple’s Neural Engine to perform machine learning analysis even faster

• Create copies of your libraries and automatically transcode media to ProRes Proxy or H.264 at various resolutions

Logic Pro version 10.6 updates:

• Improves performance and efficiency on Macs with Apple silicon

• New ability to control Step Sequencer using Logic Remote on iPad or iPhone to create beats, bass lines, and melodic parts

• Supports all Novation Launchpad controllers

• Stability and performance improvements

MainStage, Compressor, Motion and Logic Remote have also been updated to sync with the major updates to Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro. Existing owners of these software can now update all of the above software from the Mac App Store.
