With the rapid advancement and development of the 5G era, larger intelligent interconnection scenarios have also put forward new requirements for the network environment. Wi-Fi 6 has gradually been fully popularized in the field of local area communications. As a brand that masters this kind of core communication technology, Huawei has launched a new Wi-Fi 6 Plus router Huawei AX3 Pro. The simple design, simple usage and lower price make Huawei router AX3 Pro very popular.
We have disassembled the Huawei router AX3 Pro. Next, we will analyze what is special about this product from the perspective of components.
Huawei router AX3 Pro configuration list:
SoC: HiSilicon Lingxiao quad-core 1.4GHz processor 28nm process
Storage: 256MB RAM + 128MB Flash
Number of antennas: 4 flat antennas
Features: Gigabit Ethernet port | Dual-band Wi-Fi signal | Support Wi-Fi 6+ protocol | NFC touch-to-connect | HiLink smart connection
Device analysis:
Huawei router AX3 Pro's memory and flash memory are not from Korean suppliers, but from Taiwan manufacturers, Winbond Electronics and Macronix Electronics. Winbond was founded in September 1987 and is a professional memory integrated circuit company. From product design, technology research and development, wafer manufacturing to global marketing of its own brand, it is committed to providing global customers with a full range of niche memory solution services. The core products include Code Storage Flash Memory, Specialty DRAM and Mobile DRAM. It is the only manufacturer in Taiwan that has its own DRAM and Flash development technology. The products are used in handheld device applications, consumer electronics and computer peripheral markets, and are also deployed in high-threshold and high-quality fields such as automotive and industrial electronics.
The flash memory of Huawei router AX3 Pro is from Macronix Electronics, which was founded in 1989 in Taiwan's Hsinchu Science Park. It focuses on research and development, and its technical papers published over the years have been selected for many international academic conferences such as IEDM and ISSCC. Macronix Electronics is one of the few companies in the world that can provide a complete series of Serial NOR Flash products from 512Kbit to 2Gbit. It has extremely small-sized Flash products that fully meet the trend of portable electronic products becoming increasingly thin and small.
Huawei Router AX3 Pro uses 5GHz RF signal power amplifier from Lithium-ion Electronics. Founded in 2004, Lithium-ion Electronics is dedicated to the development and design of RF ICs, with product lines including RF front-end components in multiple fields: WiFi 802.11n/ac/ax in networks, 4G/LTE in mobile phones, AM and FM receivers in broadcasting, and proprietary wireless transceivers in surveillance and automotive rearview applications.
The core of Huawei Router AX3 Pro is HiSilicon's Lingxiao quad-core processor paired with Lingxiao 650 Wi-Fi6 main control chip, Lingxiao quad-core 1GHz CPU. Compared with the single-core 1GHz CPU of WS5200 and the Lingxiao dual-core 800MHz CPU of the enhanced version of WS5200, this Lingxiao quad-core CPU has a data forwarding capability of up to 5Gbps, and its performance is 2 times that of the previous generation enhanced version.
Huawei has added chip collaboration technology on top of the Wi-Fi 6 standard protocol. Huawei's other terminals also use the self-developed Lingxiao Wi-Fi 6 chip, which has the two major advantages of 160MHz ultra-large bandwidth and dynamic narrow bandwidth. It can bring a smoother and faster Internet experience, while also bringing stronger wall-penetration capabilities.
Judging from the BOM list of main components of Huawei router AX3 Pro, there are very few American components left. Not only that, there are no Japanese and Korean manufacturers in the selection of components. It should be that domestic suppliers are given priority. It can be said that Huawei has basically achieved domestic component substitution in router products.
