According to the Iceland Daily on September 3, on September 1, Vodafone Iceland activated its first transmitter and demonstrated the 5G system and electronic communication solutions it is building in Reykjavik. They are based on equipment from Chinese technology giant Huawei.
According to reports, Huawei has installed the first batch of base stations and will conduct tests with some customers of Vodafone and Nova. They will jointly install base stations across the country when the time is right. Vodafone's technical director Kjartan Briem said that the communication speed in the 5G electronic communication system is ten times faster than 4G, and it only takes a few seconds to download a movie. This technology will have a significant impact on the future society, and there is every reason to establish a regulatory framework for the security of this new technology.
