According to the Operator Finance Network, the three major operators will commercialize 5G on September 1. Unlike Korean operators who have provided large subsidies to users to purchase mobile phones, the three major operators will not subsidize the purchase of 5G phones.

In August this year, the first batch of 5G mobile phones in China were officially launched on the market. The price of ZTE AXON 10 Pro 5G was 4,999 yuan, and the price of Huawei Mate 20X 5G version was 6,199 yuan. The prices of these two 5G mobile phones did not exceed the 10,000 yuan threshold that was generally estimated by the industry.

At the recent China Unicom 2019 interim results conference, China Unicom Chairman Wang Xiaochu said that China Unicom is not considering subsidizing 5G mobile phones. Users can purchase their own mobile phones to access the 5G network without changing their numbers or cards. Unicom's 5G promotion will be carried out in two phases. The first phase is a transition period, from now to November 22 this year, mainly in the form of adding function packages, with the lowest package costing 190 yuan per month; in the long run, Unicom will seek differentiated pricing based on the quality and speed of users.

Industry analysts believe that considering the high degree of consistency in the pace of the three major operators in 5G construction and commercialization, the price levels of China Mobile and Telecom's 5G packages should be roughly in this range.

In order to allow new 5G users to have a good network experience, in the early stages of 5G applications, operators should moderately control the scale of user migration. This is also to coordinate with the current 5G network construction status and enhance the stability of the 5G network.

At present, China's three major operators use the money for subsidizing 5G terminals to build 5G networks, and the consequences are far more real than stimulating users by subsidizing 5G terminals.
