Foreign media 9to5 Google reported that Google released Android 11 Beta 2 earlier this month, reaching a milestone in platform stability. This means that Google has determined the functions and system behaviors of the operating system and will focus on bug fixes and stability improvements. Today Google released the Android 11 Beta 2.5 system update, which is mainly a repair improvement.
This update is a minor update that contains some fixes for audio issues and notification drawer issues. IT Home learned that this version also solves the flickering screen problem on some Pixel devices, which can be noticed on Pixel 4 and 4 XL when the 90Hz high frame rate display mode is enabled. The response on the issue tracker indicates that the Beta 2 update made the problem worse, so the Beta 2.5 fix was launched.
General Improvements
Fixed an issue that caused users to be unable to listen to or record audio in the app after making a VoIP call.
Sometimes, when the user swipes down from the top of the screen, the notification drawer will appear. (Issue #159768228)
The screen no longer flickers on some devices when the screen is set to a low brightness level. (Issue #156051413)
Fixed various issues that could cause devices to intermittently reboot. (Issue#159888167)
The navigation bar no longer appears in situations where it would not normally appear (such as during a device reboot). (Issue#159592365)
Some Pixel 4/XL devices that have received multiple Android 11 updates are no longer blocked from receiving OTA rollback updates to Android 10. (Issue #158765677)
Google Apps
Video recording no longer occasionally interrupts when using the Camera app. (Issue #159185509)
The Phone Dialer app no longer sometimes uses the speaker as the default audio device. (Issue #159203518)
In the Messages app, RCS chats are no longer sometimes stuck in the "Connecting" state. (Issue #159786769)
