On the morning of June 11, with less than two weeks to go before Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), many users have noticed that the delivery time of Apple's 27-inch iMac computer is at least two weeks later. This makes many people believe that Apple will update the iMac product at the WWDC conference.
Of course, it is not reliable to infer that the iMac will be updated based solely on the delivery time. Apple's supply chain time will be affected by many factors, such as tight parts or interference from the new crown epidemic.
However, in the past two days, more than one news channel has mentioned that the iMac will be updated in the near future. CoinX, a more reliable whistleblower, said in March that the iMac update was coming soon; and in April there were rumors that a new low-cost 23-inch iMac would be launched in the second half of the year.
The delivery time of the official website in China is after June 30th
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman also said in late April that Apple will make a major update to the iMac later this year, perhaps a redesign of the exterior. Yesterday, whistleblower Sonny Dickson also claimed that Apple will launch a new iMac with a design language similar to the iPad Pro at WWDC.
According to Dickson, the new iMac will have a profile similar to the iPad Pro, with right-angled edges, or similar to the shape of Apple's high-end display Pro Display XDR. This will be a major improvement to the iMac after its release many years ago. The main problem it improves is the iMac's thick black screen frame - although the iMac's design is not outdated now, this large black frame is obviously outdated.
The black frame may be the only drawback of the current iMac
In addition, the new iMac will no longer use hybrid hard drives, but all solid-state drives, and will use Apple's T2 chip for the first time on iMac. This chip, which is responsible for data security and confidentiality, has been widely used in products such as MacBook.
The updated iMac might look like this
Now it seems that Apple has a high chance of launching a powerful computer at the WWDC conference. The first Retina screen MacBook Pro and the subsequent iMac Pro were both launched at the WWDC conference. Apple defines them as powerful productivity tools in the hands of programmers, using them to create a stronger Apple ecosystem.
